The vision initially arose from the way we consume our food or beverage and the nutritional value behind it, which we have thoughtfully curated behind every one of our special blends. Our produce is sourced from a surrounding that consists of nature’s divine atmosphere– amongst the lush greens and blues between high mountains, ever flowing valleys and hills.

Origin of Sole Stone
Back in time, in the 1800s, the British shaped and paved a way to endless flourishing tea and coffee estates which people have taken pride in cultivating today in the heart of the Nilgiris, close to the epicenter of this naturally flourishing habitat. Some of the oldest hill stations in the Western Ghats region like the The Queen of Hill Stations, better known as Ooty has captivated the interest of both residents of these areas as well as people from around the globe.
Othaikalmandhu aka The Village of Single Stone or better known as Ooty (othai meaning single, kal meaning stone, mandhu meaning villager’s habitat) has inspired us in many more ways that we may know. Centuries ago, this hill station hotspot with a traditional colonial aesthetic was visited by the Founder of Nilgiris, who was handed a sacred stone admired by the local people as a humble offering. The British used to popularly call the place Ootacamund, which ultimately led to being an indigenous pathway of the history and future of the tea plantations we know of today.
Hundreds of tea and coffee plantations adorn the surrounding areas where the temperature are cool, giving the produce its luscious flavor. A single stone gave birth to a sentiment of the tea estates that are flourishing today. The heart and soul of our products reflects in the place which inspired us, in the picturesque land of Ooty, and hence we took this opportunity to salute our pride by naming our brand ‘Sole Stone’ after this historically rich place.
